GMD FLUID BED SILICON CARBIDE / ALUMINUM OXIDE HEATER FOR AEROSPACE COMPOSITE METALS

 

 

The GMD Powder Heater is designed to heat and drive off all moisture (to dry) within the dry silicon carbide and aluminum oxide powder material used in the production of aluminum composite materials. The GMD Powder Heater utilizes a single fluid bed, heated with "immersion" type electric heaters. The operation is a batch operation, heating the powder in about one (1) hour, discharging the dry product via a water cooled stainless steel "reversible" screw conveyor. System equipment includes a day bin, feeder, reactor with external insulation, fluidizing blower, heat recuperator, system controls, flue gas control damper and a GMD Reverse Jet Fabric Filter (Baghouse) with Induced Draft Fan, Rotary Air Lock and Bag Cleaning Controls.
